Giannis Giakoumakis
Giannis Giakoumakis was born and raised in the medieval city of Rhodes. He began his studies along his father Anastasis Giakoumakis who introduced him to the magical world of music. At the age of 14 he gave his first recital.
He continued and finished his studie at the National Conservatory of Athens with Evangelos Asimakopoulos and in his diploma exams, he received the honorary distinction "Outstanding Performance Excellence Award".
He gave recitals in many European countries (Hungary, Cyprus, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark) and made recordings for many radio and television networks.
He has composed music for 15 theater performances and has created the musical group "Nostos".
He lives and teaches in his hometown, Rhodes, where he has created a school with young guitarists, many of whom are starring in the Greek music scene.
